About DoneAt
A small, open-source timer that makes the remaining workday understandable at a glance — without accounts, adverts, or sending your schedule and salary to a server.
Why this project exists
A workday is easier to reason about when the remaining time, completed percentage and optional earnings estimate sit in one calm place. DoneAt turns those numbers into a utility you can leave open.
You can start in the browser, or keep it on a phone or computer from the download page.
Off Work Countdown is now DoneAt. The countdown is the same; the name on the door is shorter.
Local-first and private
Your working hours, workdays, salary and preferences stay on your device. The countdown and earnings estimate are computed locally. The iPhone, iPad, Mac and Windows apps do not send these settings or a user identifier to our servers.
The web timer uses privacy-conscious page-view and performance measurement plus a small set of aggregate product events. Those events contain only an event name — never your schedule, salary, account or advertising identifier. As with any website, hosting and analytics providers may receive ordinary connection metadata such as an IP address and user agent under their own terms. The privacy page has the details.
What the apps connect to
You do not need an account. Day-to-day use can stay on the device.
A desktop build installed from GitHub asks GitHub on launch whether a newer release exists. That request carries no account, salary or usage data, and an installer is downloaded only after you choose to update. A build installed from the Microsoft Store does not check for updates itself — the Store delivers them.
Any version reaches the network when you open an external link or pick a social sharing service. Those destinations apply their own terms.
Native reminders are scheduled and displayed by your operating system. Settings live in the app’s local data and can be removed by uninstalling and deleting that data.
Important limits
Salary and time totals are estimates for personal reference. They are not payroll records and are not legal, tax, employment or financial advice. Reminders should not be relied on for safety-critical or legally required timing.
The software is provided under the MIT licence, as is and without warranty, to the extent permitted by law. The licence text in the repository is the controlling legal notice.
